I like to get to the club room a few hours early to be alone, turn all the lights, sound, and projectors on, and practice my club talk before all of the kids and leaders get there. As I was doing this on Monday, I looked up from the sound booth to see the West Frisco Young Life logo on the screens, and I immediately froze, staring at it. All I could see was Jesus at that moment. I was overcome with awe and gratitude for all that the Lord had done in just the three short years of my time spent making friendships with kids in West Frisco. Our club has gone from being in a large empty warehouse with a portable Fender system to a dream club room in a perfect location with real lights, sound, and projectors and a space where kids feel comfortable and welcome every Monday night. I’m so grateful that the Lord has given us a space like this – a place where Jesus has changed kids' lives week after week.
Toward the end of the night, seniors were given the opportunity to stand up in front of their peers and share how Jesus and Young Life had changed or impacted their life. Several shared about their leaders, camp experiences, and Monday night clubs. There is one common thread between those three that is the key to what continues to draw kids in. That thread is Jesus, his love for them, and the picture of life to the full with him that is being offered to each of them.
To those of you who support us in prayer, financially, or in deed: Thank you. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. Thank you for allowing this to be our jobs and walking along side us in the process.
