It’s easy for the kids who are representing their schools in Mr. Christmas Tree to get competitive and think the whole thing is about winning. The staff and leaders know that it’s about more than just talents and taping live trees to their high school friends, but getting caught up in winning is easy! What’s great about Mr. Christmas Tree is that it draws a lot of people that would never even think about coming to YL in to hear the Gospel. One of the contestants invited several of his friends to Club on Monday, many of whom think Young Life is kind of lame but they came to see their friend compete and be funny in front of a lot of people. Because of this high school kid, several kids who would never have been exposed to the Gospel previously heard Cody’s talk and now have a more clear picture of Jesus than they ever might have.
We opened Windy Gap camp signups this past Monday and kids were more than eager to be the first ones signed up; a line of thirty had formed well before camp signups began at 6PM! That said, spots are getting snatched up quick so if you’re interested in sending your high schooler to Windy Gap with us this summer, let us know!
Congratulations to Trevor Holt on the big win and bringing the Mr. Christmas Tree title to West Frisco for the first time!
Merry Christmas,
